    pick-by-X solutions for logistics
  • Logistical processes in intralogistics can be performed free-handed and therefore much more ergonomically and efficiently
  • NIMMSTA offers the world’s first backhand scanner with touch display for freehand scanning Collaboration between Arvato Systems and NIMMSTA initiated by joint partner Advantech

In the future, Arvato Systems will collaborate with the innovative wearable manufacturer NIMMSTA from Munich. The joint partner Advantech, a leading provider of industrial computer solutions, had seen potential in a cooperation between the two companies and initiated the partnership. Arvato Systems will henceforth use the HS 50 scanner developed by NIMMSTA in its cloud-based logistics platform platbricks, thus expanding its pick-by-x solutions for logistics. This enables processes in assembly, picking, replenishment or shipping to be carried out ergonomically and efficiently. This option is an economical and pragmatic alternative to voice- and image-based technologies.

The Munich-based company NIMMSTA has developed the first backhand scanner with touch display and launched it on the market last year. Through an interactive operation on the paperwhite touch display, users are provided with information on switching on, placement, easy pairing, and the scanning process, and can also make inputs and confirmations. With its cloud-based logistics platform platbricks, Arvato Systems offers a modular building block system for digitizing logistics processes. For picking processes, a high value-added process in logistics, platbricks already offers a wide range of different methods (pick-by-x).

By integrating the NIMMSTA HS 50 in the platbricks Mobile Solutions module, Arvato Systems is expanding its range of solutions for the picking process. Individually designed and intuitive app dialogs guide employees through the process, who can carry it out efficiently with their hands free. During this process, the NIMMSTA HS 50 communicates in real time with the platbricks logistics platform, which verifies the data for plausibility and processes it further.

„With the backhand scanner from NIMMSTA, we have found a robust and very ergonomic alternative for our pick-by-x solutions that usefully complements our portfolio of mobile solutions for the cloud-based logistics software platbricks," explains Bernd Jaschinski-Schürmann, Head of Digital Supply Chain Management at Arvato Systems. "In particular, the powerful scan engine, robust design and low weight create important prerequisites for efficient process performance in order picking.“

„The partnership with Arvato Systems enables our joint customers to use NIMMSTA PRO without any integration effort. As a result, a huge increase in efficiency can be achieved very quickly," adds Florian Ruhland, Managing Director Sales and Technology at NIMMSTA. "Companies can display and edit all processes via our touch display. I look forward to all successful projects with Arvato Systems, which will always be innovative and process-optimizing due to our two products.“

About NIMMSTA

NIMMSTA was founded in 2019 in Munich. The two managing directors of AFR Engineering GmbH (founded in 2009) Florian Ruhland and Andreas Funkenhauser created the innovative HS 50 device as a result of their years of experience in the product development of industrial mobile computers. The NIMMSTA touch-enabled freehand scanner was developed to make processes more efficient and productive, especially in logistics. www.nimmsta.com
