• Arvato Smart Logistics Platform (ASLP): Using Logistics 4.0 solutions to close digitalization gaps in the supply chain
  • Arvato Systems demonstrates how SAP® Warehouse Management (SAP WM) can easily be brought into the next generation

Two major logistics trade shows are just around the corner. The first, LogiMAT 2018, takes place in Stuttgart from March 13-15. For the sixteenth time, logistics experts from around the world come together at the international show for intralogistics solutions and process management logistics. Six weeks later, from April 23-27, biennial world trade fair for intralogistics CeMAT, is held in Hanover. As well as bringing their extensive SAP expertise, IT specialists Arvato Systems will use both events to showcase Arvato Smart Logistics Platform (ASLP).

In the wake of the ‘digitalization wave’, technologies such as smart wearables, chatbots, neural networks, artificial intelligence, cloud-based warehouse management and predictive analytics are also entering the world of logistics. With the slogan ‘Supply Chain Solutions for Digital Leaders’, Arvato Systems experts show how these technologies can be successfully integrated into existing supply chain processes, creating a successful logistics digital transformation. “Logistics 4.0 stands for networking, information transparency and systems that make automated and decentralized decisions, with no integration gaps. However, it is only the correct configuration of processes, smart technologies and innovative IT solutions, taking the entire supply chain into account, connecting individual actors and components, that actually creates added value for customers”, says Bernd Jaschinski-Schürmann, Head of Supply Chain Consulting & Digitalization at Arvato Systems. “We have been working intensively on the latest trends and technologies in logistics and it’s out of this work that we have developed the Arvato Smart Logistics Platform.”

Logistics 4.0 with Arvato Smart Logistics Platform (ASLP)
ASLP is a versatile, modular digital system that enables the digitalization of the entire company process chain or of individual logistics processes in storage, production, transport, and retail. As well as tried and tested picking method, Pick-by-Watch, Arvato Systems presents a new picking method at the logistics shows. With Pick-by-NFC (Near Field Communication), items can be confirmed without contact during the picking process. A further ASLP option is the Dash-Kanban solution, a combination of Kanban methodology and dash-button deployment, with which employees at supply points in the production process can order additional supplies. These are just some of the possible applications of ASLP. The system can also be used to monitor container management using real-time data; to secure value flows in the block chain and for cloud-based management of small to medium storage facilities.

From SAP® WM to SAP® EWM – Next Generation Warehouse Management

The methodology is distinguished by an agile approach and the use of consistent, global specialist teams who take warehouse management systems into the next generation using a combination of their practical experience and Arvato Systems and third-party toolsets. With the factory approach, Arvato Systems experts enable a straightforward transition from Enterprise Resource Planning-System SAP® ERP 6.0 to its successor SAP® S/4HANA.
