Rohde & Schwarz is presenting its solutions live at productronica 2021, the leading global trade show for electronics development and production. The focus is on T&M equipment for latest technologies including automotive radar, satellite communications, Wi-Fi 7 and 5G. High throughput and low cost are essential in production environments, and Rohde & Schwarz solutions support exactly these goals. Trade show visitors will find the following Rohde & Schwarz highlights and more in hall A1, booth 375 at Messe München.

The brand new R&S FSPN phase noise analyzer and VCO tester provides a unique combination of performance and operating convenience. With its outstanding sensitivity, accuracy and reliability, it enables fast real-time phase noise measurements on sources for demanding wireless and RF applications requiring high stability. Rohde & Schwarz offers the R&S FSPN in two model variants, covering the frequency ranges from 1 MHz to 8 GHz and from 1 MHz to 26.5 GHz. The instrument is aimed at production and development engineers who need to characterize sources such as synthesizers, VCOs, OCXOs and DROs for radar and satellite applications in the C band, X band, Ku band, and the entire K band.

Rohde & Schwarz is presenting several testing solutions for automotive customers. The new R&S RTS radar test system allows driving scenarios to be generated entirely over the air interface for testing radar based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and the radar sensors of autonomous driving (AD) vehicles, which also monitor cross traffic. The solution consists of the new R&S AREG800A automotive radar echo generator as a backend and the R&S QAT100 antenna array as a frontend. Objects moving across the direction of travel can be simulated by electronically switching individual antennas on and off in the frontend. This allows tests currently performed in real-world test drives to be relocated to the lab, enabling errors to be detected at an early stage and delivering significant cost savings.

The R&S QAR50 from Rohde & Schwarz is ideal for testing radomes and bumpers in production. Its innovative design offers short measurement times and precise, repeatable results at an extremely attractive price/performance ratio. A highly modular software concept allows the system to be adapted to individual requirements.

With the R&S RTO6, Rohde & Schwarz presents the third generation of its tried and tested oscilloscope family. With an updated user interface, 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen and intuitive operating logic, the instrument allows a wide variety of measurement tasks to be completed faster. It is being demonstrated in several applications at productronica. With its 6 GHz bandwidth, the R&S RTO6 is ideal for analyzing automotive radar signals in the 71 GHz to 81 GHz frequency range. Up to four DUTs can be measured in parallel for higher throughput. Also on display are conformity tests for the next level of automotive Ethernet, MultiGBASE-T1 (IEEE 802.3ch), which supports the trend to high speed connectivity and data exchange in vehicles. The Rohde & Schwarz compliance test solution is easy to use, supports guided tests and delivers very detailed reports.

T&M equipment for the latest wireless technologies is of course also present at the Rohde & Schwarz booth, including the new R&S CMP180 radio communication tester. This next generation single box tester covers the frequency range up to 8 GHz and supports both cellular and noncellular multisignal and multitechnologies. With two independent RF channels and 16 RF ports, it enables parallel testing of up to 16 devices, making it ideal for mass production as well as R&D. At productronica, Rohde & Schwarz is demonstrating the new test platform with Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 tests.

The high transmission capacity, fast response and flexibility of 5G enable a range of new real-time use cases as well as private wireless networks for smart factories. With 5G applications creating demanding requirements for coverage, latency and reliability, deployment can pose challenges for network planners and operators. The R&S 5G Site Testing Solution (R&S 5G STS) from Rohde & Schwarz provides the industry with an integrated test solution. The combination of proven instruments offers all required functional, RF and signaling tests for installing 5G campus network base stations and troubleshooting during operation.

Visitors can also learn about the group’s electronic production services. The Rohde & Schwarz Memmingen plant offers a variety of production services for high-precision electronic components, while the Teisnach plant offers mechanical services, including complete assembly, 3D printing and production of precision mechanical parts and waveguides.
